Responsibilities:
Manage day-to-day operations of the garden center, including overseeing staff, inventory management and ensuring a positive customer experience.
Manage a team of Garden Center Staff, providing scheduling, guidance, training, and support.
Ensure the Garden center is well-maintained, well stocked, organized, and visually appealing.
Utilize knowledge of hard good products to provide expert advice to customers.
Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of products.
Create attractive displays to showcase products and drive sales.
Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in garden center management.
Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and safety guidelines.
Work with marketing team to implement sales strategies to meet or exceed sales target.
Support and communicate with All Department Managers.
Requirements:
Proven experience in garden center industry.
Strong knowledge of retail sales and retail software, preferably Counter-Point.
Knowledge of e-commerce platforms for online sales is a plus.
Strong background in lawn care, landscape maintenance is a plus.
Ability to lead a team and foster a positive work environment.
Excellent customer service skills with a passion for horticulture.
Multilingual abilities are an advantage for catering to a broader customer demographic.
Ability to lift 40# of product, as needed.
Working weekends is required.
